A Modest Proposal

Jonathan Swift's modest proposal to solve the poverty level and famine in Ireland was to eat year old children. When I first read through this I had to go back a couple sentences to see if I was reading correctly; unfortunately I was. This proposal by Swift is extremely far fetched, but if you really think about it he is one of the few who have tried to help this problem in Ireland. When I read this proposal I was a little bit disturbed, but after I finished I went back and read the background on Jonathan Swift. I was pleased to read that he was concidered a master of satire.
